NEW DELHI – High Commissioner of Australia to India, Philip Green, has lauded the transformative impact of the Economic Cooperation and Trade Agreement (ECTA), noting that bilateral trade has expanded by 200% since its inception. Speaking with ANI, Green highlighted that India’s trade with Australia is currently growing five times faster than its trade with the rest of the world.
While acknowledging the success of the ECTA, Green emphasized that negotiations for the more ambitious Comprehensive Economic Cooperation Agreement (CECA) are ongoing. He remarked that Australia is prioritizing a “good deal” over a “quick deal,” focusing on long-term economic synergy.
